Pawel Indulski’s take on the incandescent light bulb is spot on. A clinic in shading, transition, and gradient fades, this piece is a perfect example of how important all of those characteristics are in creating breathtaking works of art.
This moka pot.
Not being coffee drinker, all I can really relate to in this design is its utter perfection. Well-illustrated stainless steel—or any metal for that matter—is truly a thing of beauty.
This magnifying glass.
Okay, this is by far my favorite piece on the list (I hope I didn’t say that already). Everything from the refractions in the lens to the antique brass and wood handle just oozes epicness. Oh, and let’s not forget the blurry handle which illustrates the depth of field one encounters when trying to focus with a magnifying glass.
This fork and paintbrush.
Utensils anyone? Obviously an artist’s tattoo, this design features a paintbrush and fork, which I’m not quite sure what represents but it sure is beautiful.
This little fish.
Simple concept, simple design, right? Not so much. The detail and color in this piece are utterly complex. Eva Krbdk is known for going all out when it comes to, well, everything she does. And that passion and skill is clearly evident in this seemingly simple fish tattoo.
This glass.
Illustrating glass can be tricky. But when done right, the impact a well-drawn clear piece of glass has in ink is significant.
These poppies.
These three poppies share a common stem which is really a brilliant and elegant way to combine multiple stems together for a cleaner and more harmonious feel.
This cat.
I don’t know what it is about cats exactly, but some of the most impressive tattoos I’ve ever seen from a strictly technical standpoint have been of cats. This list features two of those designs, which are all extraordinary examples of modern tattooing at its finest.
