While the first day of spring is still a few months away, it never hurts to get an early start on things. And if you’re anything like us, then you’ve already started to assemble your breakout spring look that will blow your friends and family away. And of course, a new, fully healed tattoo is an integral part of that plan.
When most women make the decision to get a new tattoo, they spend a lot of time scouring the web and reading magazines trying to discover that perfect tattoo design. But there’s one thing that no one can really prepare you for, and that’s just how many amazing variations and styles of floral tattoos there are out there. Seriously. Even if you aren’t the girly girl type or are perhaps deathly allergic to all flowers and the sight of them just makes you want to puke, do not underestimate the allure and beauty of an elegant and sophisticated floral tattoo. Heck, you’ll even see men with them.
But don’t take our word for it. We have done our own scouring in anticipation of spring time tat seekers and put together a gallery of amazing floral tattoos for your viewing pleasure. We hope you enjoy this list as much as we enjoyed creating it. And don’t forget to save and share your favorites!
This elegant blackwork shoulder piece.
When it comes to seductive locales, the shoulder area right below the collarbone is hard to beat. This black and grey ink bouquet emits an elegant and classy vibe while still managing to be over-the-top mesmerizing. (Photo: Chaehwa)
This Celtic knot with Scottish thistle.
A dream for any women of Scottish heritage, this gorgeous design incorporates subtle watercolor touches which softly bleed throughout the piece. If you look closely you’ll notice a few hidden items. A Celtic trinity knot can be seen towards the bottom of the design and the word “freedom” is also visible in tiny print at the beginning/bottom of the design. (Photo: June Jung)
This lotus flower tattoo.
Triangular containment designs are about as popular as they’ve ever been. And this super clean black and grey ink dotwork design is one of the best we’ve seen in a while. Larger than your typical triangular glyph, this design has room for an impressive display of lotus flowers complete with leaves and all. A soft dotwork background occupies the empty spaces to fill out the triangle and give the piece a nice finished look. (Photo: Tritoan Ly)
These dainty flower tattoos.
Looking for something a little less painful? Perhaps these small, single-session flower tattoos would be something of interest. It’s no secret that Korean tattoo artists have been doing their best to corner the market when it comes to tiny and cute. Just about every Korean tattooist on Instagram dabbles in these miniature works that always seem to ooze adorable. (Photo: Sol Art)
This single rose.
Last year was full of peonies and pretty pink cherry blossoms. But this year we have a feeling that roses will dominate once again. Ana Abrahao has a very unique style that we like to describe as “exploding with awesomeness,” or “dotwork psychedelic.” If you like what you see here, head over to Ana’s Instagram page check out her full portfolio. This blossoming flower tattoo.
This design was featured in a previous collection of wrist tattoos we put together earlier this month. However, it was just too beautiful and fit the theme of this list so well that we decided to give it another showing. Nothing illustrates spring more than an emerging flower blossom. (Photo: Chaehwa)
These gorgeous spring florals.
How River is able to capture the life-like qualities in his work without making things appear too realistic is what sets his style apart from others. River’s work is constantly featured on our site and with examples like the one above, it’s easy to understand why. (Photo: Tattooist River)
This floral cuff.
Every once in a blue moon a tattoo comes along that’s so special and so unique that it literally takes every ounce of self-control not to run out and get an exact replica the first chance we get. This is one of those moments. Everything about this floral cuff just came together perfectly. (Photo: Vlada Shevchenko)
This vintage floral design.
This small peony flower tattoo.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know what a peony was up until a few years ago. It wasn’t until I started this site that I discovered peonies and their infinite beauty. This little rib cage design is everything elegant and dainty that a girl could ever wish for. (Photo: Sol Art)
